Burning Skin

Dance Film (Half Hour Video) 1994
Synopsis:

Canadian Indo-Armenian choreographer, Roger Sinha draws on “The Rainbow Sign” an autobiographical essay by British writer, Hanif Kureishi, to reflect on his own turbulent past shadowed by violent racist confrontations.  Fusing martial arts, ballet, modern dance, Bharata Natyam as well as Sinha’s own unique gestural vocabulary based on improvisation, dance interacts with theatre in this solo show of searing images and corrosive honesty.
